N399BH Sikorsky S-76B c/n 760311
This helicopter was written off in an accident on 18th September 2008. Whilst trying to land on a small car park next to a Hotel the main rotor of the helicopter struck a steel lamppost. The helicopter yawed, then rolled and the main rotor disintegrated on hitting the ground. The Pilot evacuated the helicopter, which was destroyed by an extensive post-crash fire. Fortunately the Pilot and two bystanders suffered only minor injuries. The incident was infamously caught on CCTV.
