Mustang P-51D 44-73877 was built by North American Aviation at their Inglewood factory and delivered to the USAAF in July 1945 before being transferred to the Canadian Air Force in January 1951 where it was coded 9279.
Current colour scheme is based on an RAF 112 Sqn scheme nicknamed “The Shark Squadron” and represents a Mustang IVA KH774 GA-S (44-11602) flown on ground attack missions over the Balkans and along the Adriatic coast by 112 Sqns Lt Blanchford .
'The Shark' is not a stranger to UK shores having appeared at many airshows as 'Old Crow' and also appearing in the blockbuster movie Memphis Belle.
