G-BTCD /413704 'B7-H' North American P-51D Mustang c/n 122-39608

Although marked as 413704, G-BTCD is actually 473149 or 44-73149. Accepted by the USAAF in Febraury 1945 it served with the 8th Air Force at Leiston in Suffolk before returning to the US in early 1946. In the early 1980s G-BTCD appeared on the UK show scene marked as Candyman / Moose and later appeared in the film 'Memphis Belle'. Operated by the Old Flying Machine Company G-BTCD now carries the highly distinguishing colours of ACE Wallace E. Hopkins, as ?Ferocious Frankie?, named in honour of his wife Frankie and coded 44-13704 B7-H of the 374th Fighter Squadron, 361st Fighter Group.
